Review

"Don Juan" by Jean-Baptiste Moliere (with the inclusion of fragments or passages of the works of Alexander

Pushkin, George Byron and others), staged by Levan Tsuladze, is a play created with a free interpretation of the

text and a new understanding of the main character. The genre of perromance is from eccentric comedy to

drama and also extends beyond. Despite the fact that "outwardly" nothing seems to have changed, neither the

environment, nor the costume, nor the hairstyles of the characters, nor the staging and performance methods of

the "classical" theater, the immortal, legendary literary symbol (which for four centuries was always filled with

new features), in the 21st century, lost many characteristics, transformed signs and transformed into a new

image. . And perhaps freed from the burden of "the most sinful man”. This is the drama of a young man, with a

romantic and sad tone, who could not find a "personal" place in this world, nor happiness, nor peace, nor the

justification of his existence. Levan Tsuladze investigates the reasons for his behavior and personal "captivity"

and traces a path in a new direction.
